Nice to see The Zangwills remaining at no. 1. As noted last week, I like their sound. From your new entries, I think my favorites are The Heavy Heavy and boygenius, as strange as I find the name of the latter. I knew a bit about Phoebe Bridgers. In July 2020, I featured a tune from her then new sophomore album “The Punisher”.

The Heavy Heavy are new to me, and I really like this song. Will need to check out more of their music. And yes, boygenius is an unusual name for an act consisting of three women, though Baker is lesbian, while Bridgers and Dacus are bisexual. Their three voices blend together beautifully.

I’ve listened to a few songs off the new album by The Heavy Heavy and definitely like what I’ve heard thus far. Their vocals sometimes remind me a bit of Fleetwood Mac. I also like the fact that they appear to have used real instruments on the album.
One of the things I miss in much of newly released music are real drum sets. Of course, I fully get the convenience and in some cases I guess the necessity to rely on computer programs to generate and record drums, especially if you’re a DIY artist recording your music at home.

Sometimes it never ceases to amaze me the complexity of a song and its lyrics to capture or even expound upon a moment so many of us live through. I feel that with Backpatters and Shooters. Thank you for sharing such beauty, Jeff.
