- ALL MY FAVORITE SONGS – Weezer (N)
Olivia Rodrigo’s emotive Lo-fi piano-driven track Driver’s License is an incredible surprise smash hit for anyone who follows music charts. Some are already calling it the pop song of the year, but before we all get carried away by the moment, it’s not exactly oozing with the originality of instant pop classics like Billie Elish’s Bad Guy or Lorde’s Royals. As we look forward to 2021 musically, this song just might linger long enough on our radar to have a meaningful impact.

For the first time in a long while, I don’t see the appeal of you number 1. I get that people like the song, but it is not my cup of tea. It is a style that is overplayed over here, I guess. For the rest, great list, as always.

It’s been the number one song in the U.S. for 6 weeks. It took me a while, but I now love it. You’ve stated previously that you don’t generally care for female voices.

Your memory is good, it is true that I am not too fond of female voices. And I think I only ever shared a handful of female artists on my blog Kate Bush, Skunk Anansie, Annie Lennox (maybe). And a big big maybe for Anneke van Giersbergen and K’s Choice. Hm… It’s not all that diverse over at my place. 😊
