My Very First Blog Post Revisited #MYFIRSTPOSTREVISITED

I’m honored to have been nominated by fellow blogger Lisa Amaya of Life of an El Paso Woman to participate in the ‘My Very First Post’ challenge.

I created my music blog in early August 2015 and honestly didn’t know what to post at first. But since I created it basically for the purpose of fulfilling my fantasy of being the DJ of my own radio station, I decided to post my Weekly Top 10 Song list. The post, which I published on August 6, 2015, was titled “Top 10 for Week of August 9-15.” It was admittedly a pretty dull post but, hey, I had to start somewhere! Back then, I had exactly zero followers lol.

Here are the rules for this challenge:

  • No cheating. (It must be your first post. Not your second post, not one you love…first post only.
  • Link back to the person who tagged you (thank them if you feel like it or, if not, curse them with a plague of crickets).
  • Cut and paste your first post into a new post or reblog it. (Either way is fine but NO editing.)
  • Put the hashtag #MyFirstPostRevisited in your title.
  • Tag five (5) other bloggers to take up this challenge.
  • Notify your tags (don’t just hope they notice a pingback somewhere in their spam).
  • Feel free to cut and paste the badge to use in your post.
  • Include “the rules” in your post.

Please feel free to participate. Of course, there is no obligation! I nominate the following bloggers to participate:

Emma – Emmakwall (explains it all)

John- 2loud2oldmusic

Michelle – Symphony of Rock

Adam – Sounds Good

Congratulations! Lisa definitely knows what she’s doing!
Because of the limitations of TTS and speech typing I don’t participate in Awards (many functions available to sighted bloggers are unavailable on TTS and speech typing and the accuracy is definitely not “there” which creates an avalanche of time consuming errors.) but I am deeply honored to be included in your list! 👍👍

Oh, definitely not a problem. It is basically impossible to explain the limitations of a miracle like Android TTS/speech typing because part of the reason it works is because it ignores and does not try to do things that cannot be put into spoken words. (surprisingly most commands cannot be put into logical words.) Keeping it simple makes it work. some of the phonetic mistakes that are unavoidable can be hilarious and unintentionally obscene.
I subscribe to the Helen Keller philosophy of doing all I can within the confines of the status quo… and then some. I’m not sensitive about this issue and do not expect special treatment. it’s just a matter of pushing limits. My biggest concern is, time. Creating a coherent and accurate text that does not unintentionally offend people is fairly time-consuming and can be exhausting. I’m also pretty sure that this is way more information than you wanted. LOL! Thank you for the Indulgence! 👍👍

I do have to tell you another short story. LOL! Because only you will understand this. Seriously.
        A couple years ago on Facebook I wanted to thank doo-wop disc jockey, Cool Bobby B from satellite radio, for an excellent post on Frankie Lymon. (2 years ago rock and roll singers like Frankie Lymon we’re not part of the TTS speech typing so his name would be spelled phonetically.) Facebook comment on this post looked exactly like this;
“Bobby I just wanted to thank you for this excellent post on one of my favorite singers Franky lime on….”
Within 30 seconds I was attacked by dozens of people calling me every filthy name in the book including stupid, ignorant and even wondering how I could enjoy music when I can’t even spell Frankie Lymon. I have an incredibly thick skin when it comes to stupid people and trolls but I don’t have the time for it.
